If God the Father is the Creator⌠Why Does Jesus Get Credit Too?
Okay, letâs just get this straight.
You’re sitting in church, minding your own business, when the pastor says:
“God the Father created the heavens and the earth.”
You’re like, âYup, Genesis 1. I got this.â
Then five minutes later, someone quotes John 1:3:
“Through Him [Jesus] all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.”
Wait⌠what?
So did Jesus create me? Or did God the Father? Are they like a divine tag team? Is the Holy Spirit chilling in the corner with a clipboard like, “Yâall are doing amazing, sweeties”?
Letâs unpack this in a way that wonât make your brain melt.
đ The Trinity Isnât a Group Project Gone Wrong
God is one in essence but three in person: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Itâs not three gods (that would be awkward), and itâs not one God with mood swings. Itâs one perfect unityâa relationship within Himself.
Think of it like this:
God the Father wills it.
God the Son (Jesus) speaks it.
God the Holy Spirit activates it.
In the creation story of Genesis, God speaks everything into existence: âLet there be light.â Boomâlight. Whoâs called The Word in John 1? Jesus.
So yes, the Father is the Creator. But Jesus is the divine Word through whom everything was created. Colossians 1:16 says,
âFor in Him [Jesus] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth⌠all things have been created through Him and for Him.â
So Jesus wasnât just sipping celestial lattes while the Father did all the work. He was the workâthe Word, the voice, the breath that shaped galaxies.
đ ď¸ Jesus Didnât Just Fix YouâHe Formed You
We often think of Jesus as the fixer-upper guy. Like He showed up 2,000 years ago with a beard and a cross and said, âDonât worry, Iâll clean up this mess.â
But hereâs the real tea: Jesus didnât just redeem creation. He was there when it was handcrafted. That sunrise you love? His idea. The sound of laughter? Yep, that too. Avocados? Youâre welcome.
He is both Creator and Redeemerâthe architect who came back to rescue the house after it caught fire.
𧏠So Who Made You?
You were made by God the Father, through Jesus the Son, empowered by the Spirit. It wasnât a divided labor kind of thingâit was a beautifully orchestrated masterpiece of divine teamwork.
So next time you wonder, âDid Jesus actually make me?â
The answer is:
Yes, darling. He made you. Then He loved you enough to save you.
And thatâs not just theology.
Thatâs romance, creation, sacrifice, and identity all rolled into one.
đââď¸If You Didnât Get the Hint, Here It IsâŚ
Jesus isnât just your Savior. Heâs your Maker. You were designed through Him, for Him, and sustained by Him. Basically, you were created by love, in love, for love.
And honestly?
That makes you kind of a big deal. â¨
